Basketball Court

1. Design and Planning

  • Court dimensions are selected (standard for FIBA is 28 m x 15 m).
  • The purpose of use is determined (professional play, practice area, outdoor or indoor court).
  • Ground type is determined (concrete, asphalt, acrylic coating, or wooden floor).

2. Site Preparation

  • Earth work (clearing hills, removing top layer).
  • Water drainage system is constructed (especially for outdoor courts).
  • Ground is leveled and compacted.

3. Foundation and Ground Work

  • Concrete or asphalt base is prepared:
    • Concrete layer thickness: 10-15 cm.
    • Proper slope is provided (0.5% slope for water drainage).
  • Surface is polished and finished for smoothness.

4. Coating Application

Options:

  • Acrylic system: For professional outdoor courts — UV resistant.
  • PU/PVC coating: Elastic flooring for sports halls.
  • Wooden floor: For closed, high-level sports facilities.

Steps in acrylic system:

  • Primer application (for adhesion between concrete and coating).
  • Elastic base layer (protection against cracks).
  • 2-3 coats of acrylic coating.
  • Coloring (usually blue or green background + white lines).

5. Court Sports Equipment

  • Basketball poles and baskets: At a height of 3.05 m according to FIBA standards.
  • Court lines: White or yellow paint — boundary lines, three-point line, free throw area, etc.

6. Lighting and Additional Infrastructure

  • LED projectors are installed for night games on outdoor courts.
  • Seating areas, protective barriers (optional).
